I am delighted to report that our first fish of the Season came off the Sauce Pool on the Private Beat and was estimated to weigh around thirteen pounds. It was also covered in sea-lice. The lucky angler was Ross MacKay from Thurso.
For the past six years a pair of Oyster Catchers have made their nesting site directly opposite my home on the other bank of the river. On March 1st they arrived yet again. I am confident that this came about without any dictat from Donald Trump, no promises from Theresa May, and even without the input of those scientists who were given an obscene amount of money to "study" how often the human eye blinks in an hour !! No, this was done completely, utterly and entirely, by Mother Nature.
