The Thurso River - Caithness

Report:	We ended the week with 50 plus in the book which considering the humid and thundery conditions for most of the week Was very satisfactory. The river level was lifted by localised heavy rain on Friday morning from 5 inches to 10 inches by Saturday morning. This has encouraged a number of the fish waiting in the estuary to move upstream. There is also good signs of a grilse run with fresh fish in the 4 to 6 pound region being caught throughout the system. Looking to the week ahead there is unsettled periods of wind and rain forecast for the early part of the week.
