The Thurso River - Caithness

Report:	Our season ended on Monday 5th and our final total almost doubled that of the past two years. Although there seems to be more fish around this year than I can remember in the past fifty plus years. This does not mean that the past two years had a lack of salmon in the system. rather, it reflected the poor fishing conditions that prevailed for much of the time during those years. It goes to show that catch statistics alone are not a good indicator of fish numbers. I would like to thank all those people who gave of their time and themselves to continue to make the Thurso such a success story. A very special thanks to big Dougie Reid who not only is a very special friend but has been a very special and loyal work colleague also.
