The Thurso River - Caithness

Report:	Another season got underway yesterday ( Friday 11th) when we were piped across Halkirk bridge and on to the Comlifoot Pool by Piper John MacRae where Dougie Reid Jnr invited everyone to drink a toast to the river and her anglers before inviting me to cast the first fly of the new season. They thought it appropriate to ask me to perform this very privileged function as they found out that I had celebrated my 21st birthday one week previous!! No fresh fish were caught on the day but there were a lot of very well mended kelts taken. Finally, I have asked to send Best Wishes from the Hotel and River Staff to Nigel Griffiths for a good 2013.
