Having endured forty two years of marriage to my first wife Isobel one could be forgiven for thinking that I would have an answer for any question or problem that came my way-------------truthful or otherwise. Not so ! Why, with perfect river levels, do hundreds upon hundred of salmon just play about in the Estuary for days, with only the odd few breaking off to run in to the system? These are definitely Thurso fish and not visitors popping in on their way around the Coast.
I could have this conversation with Isobel but, if nothing else, these past forty two years has proven to me is that she always has an opinion.
Oh, God. She has just read this over my shoulder.
