Despite our very best efforts to get Loch More under control to allow us to access the river for spawning purposed, has failed. I have reports of fish being seen as far up the system as Glutt Falls which is about fifteen miles above Loch More and I have had various ` Keepers tell me of fish spawning in tributaries of tributaries. In fact , if we were to follow the Hatchery Policy of only putting the young fish out in to areas where fish were not observed spawning naturally, we would have had difficulty in identifying areas. As it stands, I am well pleased with the 27,000 sea-trout eggs that we managed to pick up earlier fom the Achnaclachan, Braehour and Halkirk Burns. I will keep you abreast of when these "eye up" etc. |
