It has been a very difficult week with the river steadily dropping and air temperatures frightenly high for the time of year. Despite that, there were fish taken from most beats. Pick of the week had to be Peter Boggs who took a twenty pounder off beat nine-----using a ten foot rod.
Richard Mathers has just phoned as he is about to leave beat two to tell me that there are a lot of fresh grilse on the bottom end of the beat but, as it had gone flat calm, he decided to leave them alone. My kind of Angler. |
