Report: With the river disappearing in front of our eyes, it has been a very difficult week. Beats two and three in particular are still producing------but all in the early morning or late evening.
I have always been a great fan of Donald Duck but with the events of this week I haved changed allegiance to our very own local version. Whilst fishing on beat six, Dennis Farqhaur got in to a fish and shouted for his fishing companion, Jim Cameron, to bring the net. As Jim arrived puffing and panting at the scene he saw the dropper begin to appear so prepared himself as he realised the fish was nearing the surface. Out of the depths appeared a fish like no other with a feathery body and a large beak--------a Mallard had taken the fly. The pair got the beastie ashore and, as politacal correctnees dictates, delicately removed the fly and returned our feather friend to the water. Dennis said that when he saw the head surface he thought that he might be in the early stages of going quackers!! Well Done to our very own Dennis Duck.
