Kenny MacDonald cast the first fly of the new Season after his Son Ross, gave a very entertaining and well received talk at the Opening Dinner on the Saturday evening.
Unlike the Helmsadale,we were unable to produce a fresh fish on the opening day--------although Jim Cameron found a fish which had been taken by the otter on beat six which he was sure, was fresh.
Anglers have been catching a lot of very well mended Kelts which is very good for the river.
The Hatchery continues to perform very well and the eggs have yet to "eye up" which means a later hatch and this is good as they will be introduced to the system a little later than normal and there will be more natural food available to them. |
