Report: As I mentioned last week we were going to try to catch up a few fish to spawn. Despite the river rising slowly, our efforts took 100,000 eggs back to the Hatchery. We did 3 "fords" on beat nine, and one on beat eight and we operated the side sluice at Loch More.
We found that, on the lower sections, the ratio of males to female were five to one in favour of the male but at the Fish pass at Loch More the ratio was fifty fifty.
I am hoping to post a small video of the operation on the site in the next few days.
