Report: With fresh fish still entering the system we have enjoyed another good week. The fish seemed only to work in the early part of the day and went dour in the afternoons. Caspar Bell had his first Thurso fish on beat two, and fifteen year old Geordie Palmer had his first ever salmon much to the delight of many people. Looking to the week ahead, I can see no reason why the good sport should not continue as conditions are still very good. Finally, a little personal story. My oldest Son Clyne ( creator of the thurso river website-----and who seldom gets time to fish nowadays) decided to have a cast before work. He went to his vice and created a new fly which he called after his Wife "Denise" and went out and caught his first fish of the season. He has suggested to me that if I want to get out fishing for a few hours I should create and name a fly after his Mother-----------but then Grizzlyguts is not a very attractive name for a fly. If you decide to visit me in Hospital-------I really like grapes.
