Despite very poor overhead conditions we still enjoyed a reasonably good week. As ever, Nigel Griffiths had more than his fair share but it was the "one that got away" that was to be the main talking point. He hooked a fish which he estimated to be very close to forty pounds in the Mire Pool on beat eight but, sadly, it parted company after twelve minutes. The Gallacher Party from Ireland had double figures for their first visit and probably most popular of all was Howard Taylor from across the Pond taking a fish on beat four and another on beat two. As I write on Saturday morning it is raining but we also have a strong breeze which will prevent it doing too much good. |
