It has been a much quiter week with us and the river has dropped back for the first time since mid-October to around a foot. On Thursday and Friday we checked out most of the "fords" to find that virtually all of the fish had spawned and had fallen back in to the deep pools. I waded down some of these fords and could find a lot of redds under my feet. Obviously, with the spate coming prior to spawning activity, we were very fortunate.
Over the next few days it is my intention to walk the entire river to properly identify any problem areas.
