We have enjoyed another good week------although not as good as last week. The reason for the slight drop in catches has been the return of the dreaded easterly winds and the equally dreaded bright sun. I am delighted to report that Mark MacDoanld (Star of the BBC Documentary "Salmon Actually") has caught his first Thurso salmon. Unfortunately, Mark caught his first ever salmon the previous day on the Forss river-----but, congratulations to a very fine young man. Another first salmon was taking by fourteen year old visiting angler Henry Laurie.
The prospects are pretty good for the week ahead but it would be good to get a slight rise in levels to get our fish "in the mood" again. |
