Oyez! Oyez ! Oyez! Now hear this good people of the British Isles. The Thurso is back in business. After a reasonable amount of rainfall the river rose to 25 inches on the Halkirk gauge and Loch More also rose considerably. When the water cleaned up there were some good catches throughout the system. Jemma MacKay, who has been trying for some years (some would say very trying ) not only caught her first ever fish but then went on to add another five to her tally, Mrs jackie Starke had her first ever salmon on beat two and I think that Husband Eric, might have landed a couple of tiddlers, Kevin Sinclair had a dozen on beat nine and Dr Mike Leach had his best day ever taking ten fish to his own rod on beat ten.
It looks very exciting for the weeks ahead as the fish are not coming in all at once, rather they appear to be quite relaxed and new fish are entering on every tide. |
