Below are patterns for two well known "Thurso" flies - the Fast Eddie and the Macartair.
If you don't feel expert enough to tie these up, try "Macdonald's Shrimps"

Claret and yellow goose with peacock below goose, all married. Cheeks: Large blue kingfisher with jungle cock tied shorter Head: Black varnish
Macartair Shrimp Tail: Medium Claret bucktail, 3 strands of gold crysal hair, with a long claret hen hackle tied in front and swept back. Tag: Oval gold tinsel, yellow floss Butt: Orange ostrich herl Body: First half, golden yellow seals fur, front half, claret seals fur. Rib: Oval gold tinsel Throat hackles: Yellow cock with orange cock over Wing: Mixed yellow, claret and orange squirrel Cheeks: Long blue kingfisher, shorter jungle cock over Head: Two coats of black varnish, with one coat of clear over.
